Esme is the creator of the YouTube Channel 'This Esme'. Esme vlogs about her life with her three horses Joey, Casper and Mickey and makes videos with tips and advice for her subscribers. Esme's weekly videos also promote riding, horse welfare and cover all aspects equestrian. The popularity of Esme's work has quickly made her one of the worlds largest equestrian YouTubers. As well as having three gorgeous horses Esme also has 3 Donkeys!
Esme started riding at her local riding school when she was five, after many months of asking for lessons. They used to hack past her house and she would always watch the ponies from her bedroom window. She joined The Pony Club when she was nine and it’s taught her so much over the years, especially how much she loves camp! Esme mainly does show jumping with Casper now, but they both enjoy the thrill of cross-country, too.
Esme first started making video edits and vlogs on her phone about two years ago, mainly to track hers and Casper’s progress. From there it’s grown and grown, more than she could ever have imagined! Esme loves being able to share her passion for ponies. She also finds it lovely to hear from her fans that they’ve been inspired to start riding or her vlogs have helped them with their riding confidence.
Did you know? As well as making YouTube videos and studying for her school exams, Esme works at a vets part time!
Esme really enjoy making all her videos, however, her series ‘Mail Time with Mickey’ is great fun. Mickey makes her laugh so much sometimes that she can’t get my words out and she never know what he’s going to do next! Some videos are easier than others to film and edit. For every minute you see on YouTube, it usually takes at least three hours to produce. However, with some of the cinematic videos (which are more like films, rather than me talking to the camera), it can easily take double that.
One exciting pony-related thing that’s ever happened to Esme is she spoke at the annual Pony Club conference, and got to meet and chat to Princess Anne. Her riding highlight was competing at Hickstead on Casper.
